Like its predecessor, the undersung One, Req's Frequency Jams is a blurry, choppy assemblage of fractured rhythms and lo-fi Tascam experimentalism. And as with his debut, Req more than makes up in concept what he lacks in craft, dragging a for-all-intents purist's hip-hop into some of the most interesting, inventive corners of instrumental beats. Highlights include the heavy-on-the-attack old school rhythms of "I (Linn Mix)" and Req's haunting, fuzzy, lonesome tribute to the African finger piano, "Mbira.

One (also known as req:one) is the debut album by English experimental electronic producer REQ, recorded from September 1995 to 1996 and released on Skint Records in 1997. After releasing several EPs, REQ decided to release an album to spread his sound. His conception for One was to create music that hints at a direction without ever arriving at one. Music critics had difficulty defining the album's style, and is seen as a "blunted take" on trip hop with downtempo ambience.

The album was taped in 1997, but unlike his first album, the liner notes for Frequency Jams do not specify the recording Music. Mbira Classic" is a tribute to the African thumb piano, the Mbira. As with One, Frequency Jam has been described as "a blurry, choppy assemblage of fractured rhythms and lo-fi Tascam experimentalism.

Frequency Jams is the second album by English experimental electronic producer REQ, released in 1998 on Skint Records. Some felt the album pushed REQ closer to the avant-garde, with stronger usage of noise.

REQ followed the EP the release with the Fantasy Roc . 1996), which contained future One track "Subculture", and the "Miracles" single, also from 1996. After these releases, he dedicated his time to recording his debut album.
