Peter Scott Ivers (September 20, 1946 – March 3, 1983) was an American musician, songwriter and television personality. He was the host of the experimental music television show New Wave Theatre. Despite never having achieved mainstream success, biographer Josh Frank has described Ivers as being connected by "a second degree to every major pop culture event of the last 30 years.
Peter Iwers (born on 15 May 1975) is the former bass player of the Swedish band In Flames. He played with In Flames from their 1999 album Colony, up until their 2016 album Battles, originally replacing Johan Larsson who departed after 1997's Whoracle. He was also the bassist for the band Cyhra with former In Flames bandmate Jesper Strömblad from 2017 to 2018. His bass playing style has been influenced by Toto bassist Mike Porcaro, as well as Geddy Lee from Rush and John Myung of Dream Theater fame.
Age: 44 (born May 15th, 1975). Place of origin: Sweden (Stockholm). Brother of Anders Iwers (Tiamat). Along with Björn Gelotte, Iwers owns the 2112 restaurant in Gothenburg.
If Terminal Love cast him as the leader of an urgent and important proto-punk unit with strange ideas, Peter Ivers the album shifts the focus to Peter Ivers the quirky yet comfortable songwriter. This time out, oddball concepts are snuck into the mainstream bar rock Ivers loved so much, along with some other genres like the tight reggae of "Eighteen and Dreaming. The song is a dreamy, nostalgic look back at a time that wasn't so jaded and it's surprisingly sincere, as is the lovelorn ballad "You Used to Be Stevie Wonder" ("I was the Magnavox").
