ABBA’s vintage 1979 album Voulez-Vous will mark its 40th anniversary with a multi-format reissue, including coloured vinyl and picture discs, on 14 June. The group’s sixth studio LP, first released on 23 April that year during one of their most successful periods of global chart dominance, included numerous hit singles and was itself a No. 1 in many countries around Europe. It also reached the top 20 in the US and was their fifth consecutive Swedish chart-topper
Voulez-Vous (pronounced ; French for "Do you want?") is the sixth studio album by the Swedish group ABBA, released in 1979. It features a number of hits such as "Chiquitita", "Does Your Mother Know" and "I Have a Dream" and showed the group embrace disco music, which was at its peak at the time. The album peaked at N. in a number of countries and was one of the top five-selling albums in the UK for that year.
Kisses of Fire" is a song recorded by Swedish pop group ABBA, released on their 1979 album Voulez-Vous. An American band called Foxy laid down the backing tracks to what eventually became "Kisses of Fire" and "If It Wasn't for the Nights". It is uncertain how much of these early recordings were retained. Kisses of Fire" was released as the B-side to the single "Does Your Mother Know" in April 1979, shortly before the release of the Voulez-Vous album.
Voulez-Vous - the album. 8. Does Your Mother Know/Kisses of Fire/Finn Kalvik. 9. Rehearsals before the tour/ABBA in Spain. Recording sessions for the album "Voulez-Vous" took extremely long time comparing to recording sessions for earlier ABBA albums. The group started working in the studio already in March 1978 and it took more than 1 year to complete the new album which contained only 10 new songs. But it has to be mentioned that lots of material recorded during the Voulez Vous-sessions remained unreleased. It was definitely the sign of the first creativity crisis in the group.
