Magneze rocked the Orbit in Morley every single week ! Serious techno business.
Whitehammer
4 huge tracks. Timeless. I played Atol so often in the TRESOR (Leipziger Str.) .
Love Me
One of best Surgeon EP released in my point of view!
Tar
Magneze in Jeff Mills Mix-up Vol.2 is the force of the set. 20 years after feel the same

the front cover says 45rpm but im pretty sure both sides play at 33rpm. doesn't bother me, all the tracks sound great. cant wait for the other 5 to come.
Xal
The front cover does not say 45rpm. The front cover is sporting a photo of the center label of the original pressing. That pressing was cut at 45rpm.Hence the confusion :-)

"Magneze" pretty much typifies what SURGEON were doing three years ago - straight-down-the-line drum beat over which an uninspired sequence rises & falls. "Move" again chooses to ride bitty electronica over the regular structure of a fairly mainline House beat-spine. "Atol" again spreads fairly frail electronics over straight pumping drum pattern. You can see the Neo-Classical flavouring whichbecame an integral part of CHILDS' sound here, in trace amounts only. "Argon" follows in much the same vein. This is clearly an earlier SURGEON, with the familiar sound still in embroyonic form. Not his best work, but DJ-friendly and probably less playful & more workmanlike than later releases. Originally reviewed for Soft Watch.

This has to be about the dumbest, most overwrought and misinformed review I've ever read.

Magneze is magnificent! Techno as it should be: well structured, telling a story, variety, good mastering. This one also withstood the tooth of time, everytime I play this one everybody goes wild. A must for every techno-dj. If you can buy this one twice so you can mix magneze in itself, you will have a lot of fun!! The argon track is also very good, same style as magneze. The other 2 tracks you will probably never play.

Dunno why everyone bangs on about "Magneze" when "Atol" and "Argon" are much heavier. Proper hard, dark, ruff minimal techno. Still absolutely rocks a dancefloor close to a decade on.
Flas
...and even still rocks a floor another decade on!

Magneze & Move are both crazy hard techno trax featured in many a Jeff Mills set including on the live at liquid room cd. Atol is one of the trippiest early moning trax around, my alltime fav
