Burial is the debut studio album by London electronic producer Burial, released in 2006 on Kode9's Hyperdub label. Considered a landmark of the mid-2000s dubstep scene, the album's sound features a dark, emotive take on the UK rave music that preoccupied Burial in his youth, including 2-step, jungle, and UK garage. Critics have variously interpreted the release as an elegy for the dissipated rave movement and a sullen audio portrait of London.

William Emmanuel Bevan, known by his recording alias Burial, is a British electronic musician from South London. Initially remaining anonymous, Burial became the first artist signed to Kode9's electronic label Hyperdub in 2005. He released his self-titled debut album, which drew inspiration from UK rave music and pirate radio culture, to acclaim in 2006; it was named the album of the year by The Wire. Burial's second album, Untrue, was released to further critical acclaim in 2007.

Mysterious Wrench
Nite Train is his opus magnum imo. Chaotic beat, nostalgic hook and magnificent synth stabs.
Not really into getting Burial EP's as the majority of the songs are available on the LP's, I had to get this one though, Night Train and South London Boroughs are a must have!
Anyone got anything interesting in written in the run out groove? Mine says 'DEEP FRIED' next to the catalogue number on the A side... is this the case for all copies?
Jokes that the original is going for considerably less than the re-press - which, by the way is still in stock by the shed load at Rough Trade.
more copies @ hyperdub hq right now
Pristine sounding repress on heavyweight vinyl, what more can you ask for?
More Copies!
Any difference between these and the OG pressing?
I don't have ether but that's cool to know.
It's on 180 Gram vinyl.
OG is 140mg
thank u based steve for the repress
Beautiful release but i think it's ridiculous how much they ask for it?
yup, you can complain all you want. but thats the way it's gonna be. simple marketing logic. they have something scares that you want. so they will let you pay you big time before you'll get it. Thank god half of the tracks are on the album! ;-)
The most mindblowing sound vision of the last 10 years
Fuck anyone that disagrees with me when I say that the opening horns on South London Boroughs are the best thing in music history.
Someone seems to be indulging in blind admiration...
Yep. Pretty good, alright.
It's been my ringtone from the age of 15, and now, at 20. I still flippin' love it. His syncopations ruin all bystanders, imitators and contemporaries. Southern Comfort reminds me of the substance itself. I don't really ike it, but I kinda do like it. I always order it when I could have something else at the bar, The song is murderously repetitious but somehow it works.Lets all give in to urban romanticism and hop on the Nite Train.Unbelievable EP it has never let me go.
We all know this one by now, so I'll just say that the mournful brilliance of the title track (with its heavyweight dub, horn samples and excellent breaks) manages the paradox of being strikingly original, yet somehow sounding like every other dubstep tune made, ever. Burial is a genius.
