Complete your Throbbing Gristle collection. More a conceptual game than a collection of music TG24 represents a perfect union of the Art Collective and music producing side of Throbbing Gristle. The object is as important as the music contained therein, the representation of a day, one complete cycle. Indeed this is so true that, rather like drinking the glass of water in Michael Craig-Martin's Oak Tree, if you took away the music then this would still be TG24, would still be a day, one complete cycle.

In a similar vein to the band's 1978 album . A: The Third and Final Report, the album features four tracks each created by each individual member of the group. Bryin Dall was the co-writer and performer on the track by Genesis P-Orridge. The cover image is a picture of Mt. Kailash taken by Martin Gray.

Without actually owning this item, I cannot know for sure, but isn't this a CD version of the TG "24 Hours of TG" cassette set? Do you know the story behind the original release? Industrial Records made the most current 24 TG performances available in a case with various inserts... this was 1979-81, as I recall. Each set was assembled by hand and I don't believe there were more than 50 of them made. The individual cassettes were available as bonafide IR releases. Rest assured, the music was far more important to those of us who bought the cassettes than the "object" itself. How do I know all of this? A friend of mine bought one of the sets directly from IR and let me borrow it close to 30 years ago. I made copies of the cassettes and the inserts (and wish now that I still had them!).
