He was born in Clichy-sous-Bois, Seine-Saint-Denis, France and obtained French citizenship at age 18, while also retaining his previous Italian citizenship. Apparently Alagna, as a boy, heard Mariano sing many of these songs, so the album is Alagna's tribute to his great predecessor. The album is a mix of songs in English and French, mostly the latter. And here's where it gets interesting. Alagna is fantastic in every one of them - touching, tender, flamboyant, rousing, enthusiastic.
