Lovro von Matačić (14 February 1899 – 4 January 1985) was a Croatian conductor and composer. Lovro von Matačić was born in Sušak to a family that was granted a noble title in the early 17th century. Growing up, he was always surrounded by music and art: his father had a career as an opera singer, and his mother as an actress. After his parents’ divorce, the family moved to Vienna, where Lovro joined the Vienna Boys Choir of the Royal Court Chapel at the age of eight.

The Orchestre national de France (ONF; literal translation, National Orchestra of France) is a French symphony orchestra based in Paris, founded in 1934. Placed under the administration of the French national radio (named Radio France since 1975), the ONF performs mainly in the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées from where all its concerts are broadcast. Some concerts are also held in the Salle Olivier Messiaen in the Maison de Radio France (formerly known as Maison de la Radio).

This is a list of musical compositions by the 20th-century Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev. On Desert Islands (1900; unfinished). When Nikita Magaloff was a child of six his parents fled Russia for Finland to escape the Revolution. The family stayed in Finland for four years, where Magaloff apparently had lessons from Alexander Siloti, The family then then travelled to the USA, and finally settled in Paris in 1922. In Paris Magaloff also met Sergei Rachmaninov. The music and influence of those three composers figured prominently in Magaloff’s career. Nikita Magaloff was one of the more interesting and charismatic keyboard figures of the 20th century. He concertized with the most important conductors and orchestras of the day and at the most prestigious festivals.
