Teen Age Riot" was the first single from Sonic Youth's 1988 album, Daydream Nation. It received heavy airplay on modern rock stations and considerably expanded their audience (along with the album itself). Teen Age Riot" is one of Sonic Youth's most recognizable songs, yet it is something of an oddity amongst their repertoire, consisting of a traditional verse-chorus pop song structure.

Teen Age Riot" is a song by Sonic Youth. Thurston Moore told Q Magazine October 2007: "At the time, J Mascis from Dinosaur Jr represented our slacker genius, so in tribute we wrote a song called 'Rock'N'Roll For President' about him being president, which we eventually renamed Teen Age Riot. The photo-painting, Kerze, that adorned the Daydream Nation album was the work of avant-garde German artist Gerhard Richter.

After opening with the sun-kissed "Teen Age Riot," most albums would have license to fall off. But not this one, which uses "Silver Rocket," "Hey Joni," "Eric’s Trip" and "Total Trash" to justify its double-album running time and reach for classic status.

This is a collection of variations on a cover of "Teen Age Riot" from Sonic Youth's 1988 album "Daydream Nation. These versions were recorded with an acoustic guitar using an iPhone 6 voice memo function with built-in microphone outdoors in Cherry Valley, Pennsylvania. The digital recordings were then manipulated using PureData and Audacity. released December 26, 2015. some rights reserved.
