Dopamine is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Børns, released on October 16, 2015 by Interscope Records. On August 19, 2015, Børns announced the album on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Radio show. He also released the first official single from the album titled "The Emotion".

The drawbacks to Expect the Worst are the same problems that hinder most bands in the punk and pop-punk pile up. The general sound of the songs leaves a want for diversity and makes quite a few of the mid-album tracks feel tired. However, there is a need to acknowledge that The Dopamines have a distinct style and it works. Changing their style in favor of a more diverse or expansive sound could actually take away from the solidity and earnestness that make this band so refreshing. All in all, The Dopamines have crafted an album that can stand toe to toe with genre classics from Kerplunk! to Dillinger Four’s Midwestern Songs of the Americas. More importantly this album goes above and beyond the recent efforts from the genre. Expect the Worst is certainly the best pop-punk offering of 2010.

The Dopamines are an American punk rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in late 2006 by Matt Hemingway (drums), Jon Lewis (guitar, vocals) and Jon Weiner (bass, vocals). In 2008, Hemingway left the band and was replaced by Michael Dickson  . In 2010, the band released its second album "Expect The Worst" on Paper + Plastick Records, and went on tour with Paper + Plastick founder Vinnie Fiorello's band Less Than Jake In March 2011, the band started recording a new album, produced by Yonker; the album, Vices, was released in June 2012.

Expect the Worst has so much energy it's likely there will be more than a handful of listeners who love the album and have no sense of its darker tones. The bouncing melodies and perfectly paired harmonies will make you surprised to find yourself singing along to lines like, "Can you hear it? It's the sound of a failure, while everyone else succeeds. It's the perfect layer of sugar to help what could be an otherwise bitter pill go down. Plenty of times the Dopamines sing about constant downers such as clinical depression, frustration and feelings of inadequacy. That said, they never regress to the indulgence of self-pity or constant second-guessing. No sooner will they acknowledge their own shortcomings and problems before they respond, "But unlike you, I guess I got nothing to prove. You keep weaving through traffic, and I'll keep huffing exhaust.
