Band Name Diamond Head. Album Name Lightning to the Nations. Data wpisu 01 Lipiec 1980. The most underrated album of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. When one considers the "New Wave of British Heavy Metal", the obvious thought is of Iron Maiden with Bruce Dickinson screaming at the top of his vibrato laced tenor voice, backed by three guitarists and a stage-hand in a costume of their zombie mascot.
Lightning to the Nations. Limited to 1000 copies, the album came in a plain white sleeve with no track listing and no title, therefore known as "The White Album". A further 1000 copies were pressed, again in a plain white sleeve, but this time with a label on the vinyl with the Happy Face logo and a "DH" logo. Each copy was signed by one member of the band, each member signs 250 copies.
Diamond Head's first album - aka the 'White Album," Lightning to the Nations, or simply "Diamond Head" - is somewhat like the Ark of the Covenant of heavy metal. By unlocking its New Wave of British Heavy Metal secrets, one will discover most all the connecting points between the genre's '70s originators and the ensuing '80s hordes - arguably even more so than via Iron Maiden.
Lightning to the Nations is the debut album by heavy metal band Diamond Head. The album was recorded in 1979 (after the 1977 and 1979 demos) and released in 1980 through their own label Happy Face Records, due to lack of interest from major labels and band feeling that they needed to get the ball rolling as other bands from the same era, such as Iron Maiden and Def Leppard, were already becoming big names.
The album is officially untitled although the band and fans titled it 'Lightning To The Nations' after the first track.
Am I Evil?" is a song by British heavy metal band Diamond Head released on their 1980 debut album Lightning to the Nations. The song was written by vocalist Sean Harris and guitarist Brian Tatler and released on Happy Face Records, a label owned by the producer Muff Murfin of The Old Smithy studio of Worcester.

Sound - 10 Also known as " The White Album," " Lightning to the Nations " stands to be one of the most influential heavy metal albums of all time that hardly ever got heard. And that stands to be Diamond Head 's biggest selling point: if they inspired Metallica, they had to be good. And good they are. Though probably not great, " Lightning to the Nations " is one of the most unadulterated all-out rocking albums of all-time.
