Die tote Stadt (German for The Dead City), Op. 12, is an opera in three acts by Erich Wolfgang Korngold set to a libretto by Paul Schott, a collective pseudonym for the composer and his father, Julius Korngold. It is based on the 1892 novel Bruges-la-Morte by Georges Rodenbach. Rodenbach's novel Bruges la Morte had already been adapted by the author into a play
Mutter is the third album by Rammstein. It was released on April 2, 2001. The recording sessions took about 20 months altogether. The pre-production started in September 1999 in Haus Weimar, Heiligendamm. During the time all songs, which were written here, ended up on the album.

His landmark novel All Quiet on the Western Front (1928), about the German military experience of World War 1, was an international best-seller which created a new literary genre, and was subsequently made into the cinema film All Quiet on the Western Front (1930).
