Dreamhunter is the third studio album by the Swedish hard rock band Treat, released in 1987. The band had only minor success with the album, but nevertheless managed to join the Monsters of Rock Tour 1988 in support of it. During the recording, drummer Leif Sundin left the band and was replaced by Jamie Borger, who would go on to be featured on every subsequent album. 1987's Dreamhunter was the band's third studio album, and it's another absolutely first class melodic rock release. Treat had such an awesome sound, drawing the best elements of Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi and Europe into a very slick, polished, catchy as hell brand of arena rock. If you love melodic rock/80's rock/hair metal/whatever you want to call it - you have to get this album. There's just no way any child of the 80's could not love Treat's sound, and Dreamhunter is one of the band's best albums (1985's Pleasure Principle might be better).

Every song had the ability to be either a radio or video hit back in 87'. As far as song quality goes, "Pleasure Principle" had better overall songs, but on "Dreamhunter" the band seems much tighter and more musically focused. With "Dreamhunter", "Treat" attempted to thicken their sound into a much harder version of their established melodic rock approach. One immediately notices the up-front rhythm section which develops into a big part of "Dreamhunter".
