Jet Blast - Heinz & The Tornados - Just heard Telstar by the Tornados on the radio. Heinz was dressed in his stage clothes for the final time, and Telstar was playing on the loudspeakers in the chapel. A benefit concert, to help raise funds for Heinz's mother, Mrs Martha Burt, was at the Banister Ballroom, Hulse Road, Southampton, on Friday 11 August 2000. The artists, who gave their services free, were Tony Harte, Jennie Laine, the Baker Boys, Amanda J, Dave Wicks, DJ Frank Rogers and Jeff Holland.

Heinz Burt (born Heinz Henry Georg Schwartze, 24 July 1942, Detmold, Germany - died 7 April 2000, Weston, Hampshire) - bass guitar (1960-1963). Stuart Taylor (born 23 October 1944, in London - died 18 April 2005) - lead guitar (1964-1965). Jimmy O'Brien - keyboards (1964-1965). The Tornados' instrumental "Telstar" (1962), written and produced by Meek, became the first record by a British rock group to reach number one in the US Hot 100.

Composed by Brian Gregg, Heinz's successor. 8 tracks on the album are by Clem Cattini, George Bellamy, Roger LaVern, Alan Caddy and Heinz. 4 tracks feature Brian Gregg who replaced Heinz on bass guitar. Heinz, or Heinz Burt as he was known in the Tornados, was not only a prodigious talent, but a highly consistent recording artist. From the first two tracks here, dating from 1962, to the last one - a live recording of I Got a Woman done in 1965 from the Cavern Club - the recordings are exciting and interesting, and memorable.
