Salvatore Antonio "Rino" Gaetano (29 October 1950 – 2 June 1981) was an Italian musician and singer-songwriter. He is remembered for his rough voice, for the heavily ironic lyrics of his songs and his social protests. He died in a car accident at age 30. He was a popular and influential figure, widely re-evaluated by 2000s music.

This album was limited to 16, so great versions by Stevie Wonder, the Four Tops, Sinatra, Fitzgerald, Frankie Valli, and others considered are not here, but the ones that made the cut are a lot of fun. Whether its Dusty Springfield's immaculate -five-second version, or Stanley Turrentine's nty-two-second reading, hearing this marvelous melody over and over is a delight.
Impish singer/songwriter Rino Gaetano was only active between 1973 and his tragic death in 1981, but his songs made a lasting impact on Italian culture. In fact, by 2010 there were twice as many compilations as original studio albums, all released since the 1990s.
