Nokturnal Mortum is a Ukrainian black metal band from Kharkiv. They were one of the founders of Ukrainian scene black metal and one of the most infamous of the eastern European NSBM groups. Nokturnal Mortum originally started as a death metal band called Suppuration in 1991, then turned to black metal and changed name to Crystaline Darkness but "had to change the name back in 1993/94 to Nocturnal Mortum because there already existed a band with that name in western underground.

Nokturnal Mortum's ''Нехристь'' is an absolute pestilence of an album. For the most part the vocals are ok actually, however there are many instances where he sounds like a dying hyena. And whenever he yells ''ye haw'' (as in some sort of cowboy shout), I want to jump out of my window. I hope I never have to even acknowledge the utter failure that is Нехристь ever again. This album was the first album to ever give me a headache. Do yourself a favor, and don't listen to this horrible mistake.
