Liberman is the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Vanessa Carlton, released on October 23, 2015, through Dine Alone Records. It is the follow up to Carlton's 2011 album Rabbits on the Run and marks her first release since signing with Dine Alone Records. The title of the album comes from an oil painting made by Carlton's late grandfather, whose given surname was Liberman.

The Esher demos are a real treasure trove; they mined it for years. Songs that got worried to death on the album are played with a fresh one-take campfire feel, just acoustic guitars and handclaps. A couple of half-finished sketches got saved for Abbey Road ( Polythene Pam, Mean Mr. Mustard ), others for their solo records (Paul’s Junk, George’s Not Guilty and Circles, John’s Child of Nature, which he later rewrote as Jealous Guy ). They whoop through each another’s songs – even Honey Pie rocks. The Beatles spent five agonizing months making the White Album, often splitting up to work in separate studios. The fighting got so ugly Ringo quit for a week.

The legendary Esher Demos, recorded at Harrison’s house in Esher, Surrey, are a blast. Martin played Back In the . Sexy Sadie and Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, as well as Not Guilty, a Harrison-penned song which didn’t make the White Album, but was re-recorded for his self-titled album in 1979. He also played Child of Nature, another song that didn’t make the cut, but which would later evolve (with completely different lyrics) into Lennon’s classic solo song, Jealous Guy. Intellectually, it’s interesting to listen to these tracks; they give insight to how the White Album was made. But the Esher Demos are fun to listen to in their own right.

It eventually found a home on McCartney's first solo album. Harrison fared less well, with three of the five demos failing to be included on the White Album. A studio version of Not Guilty should have appeared on that record, although it was eventually included on Anthology 3. Circles, meanwhile, wasn't issued until Harrison's 1982 solo album Gone Troppo. Sour Milk Sea was given to Apple recording artist Jackie Lomax. It was his debut single later in 1968, produced by Harrison with McCartney on bass and Ringo Starr on drums.

Carlton says the new album will show the progression she has made from her first record, "Be Not Nobody," which has sold . million copies in the . according to Nielsen SoundScan. I wrote some of those songs when I was very young. While prepping for the new album, Carlton also found time to record the theme song for the action/combat racing game "SpyHunter 2," which may also be turned into a feature film. The artist also appeared as Dusty Springfield in the NBC series "American Dreams," and her cover of "Wishin' and Hopin'" is included on the show's Hip-O/Universal soundtrack album, released earlier this month.
