In my modest opinion, this is the best record conceived by Sandra Sá and, undoubtedly, one of the essential records of Brazilian Boogie Funk.Unfortunately, after this record, Sandra Sá drastically changed the aesthetics of her works, and her new repertoires were few inspired. In my view, his best phase was between 1980-1983, realize this by listening to his first three records: "Demônio Colorido", '1982 album" and "Vale Tudo". Obviously, she's an excellent singer. However, it is clear that his best phase occurred in the stage where he worked in partnership with Lincoln Olivetti and Banda Black Rio.They can complement Sandra's musical ideas.First, this record had the participation of exceptional musicians, who collaborated in the musical conception of most of the Brazilian boogie records and, of course, collaborated in many Brazilian records that were labeled as MPB especially in the 1980s. I am talking about musicians like Tim Maia, Robson Jorge, Lincoln Olivetti, Serginho Trombone, Oberdan Magalhães, Barrozinho, Claudio Stevenson and Jamil Joanes (Banda Black Rio), Junior Mendes, Gastão Lamounier, Léo Gandelman, Márcio Montarroyos, Bidinho and others.Without second place, few records of this same aesthetic, of this same style and language, made in Brasil in the same period, possess so many good songs. I'd say records like Junior Mendes "Copacabana Sadia", Marcos Valle "1983", Robson Jorge & Lincoln Olivetti "1982" and Sandra Sá "1982", these are equivalent to this. They are "brother records", because they are similar and were made, basically, by the same musicians. So, if you really like this record, you'll probably like these other records, too. I highlight five tracks in this record: "Trem da Central", "Candura", "Pela Cidade","Vale Tudo" and "Guarde Minha Voz".There is an interesting story about the track "Vale Tudo": Lincoln Olivetti wrote a spectacular arrangement to be played by Banda black Rio and sung by Tim Maia,in the hue of Tim Maia. When they met in the studio, Sandra listened to the Banda Black Rio playing with that irresistible arrangement and almost cried with emotion when she learned that this song had been made for her to sing with Tim; he listened to the introduction of the song, took some time to start singing and did it with great effort. The tone of the arrangement was very keen for her vocal tonality, after all, the arrangement had been written for Tim Maia. But Sandra Sá would never dare to have Lincoln Olivetti rewrite the arrangement and let Tim Maia lower her tone, her voice, and sing in the same tone she sings. Tim Maia was the special guest of the record, his idol, who had already given him great music. Then, Sandra Sá almost broke her vocal cords to get into Tim's tone, in the same high notes of him. Notice this when you hear this track.Cheers,Rodrigo.
