James Kevin Salestrom (born February 20, 1956) is an Grammy Nominated American singer/songwriter. Was lead singer of the band Timberline from 1971 to 1977. Performed in Dolly Parton's band from 1979 to 1991. As a solo artist, he has performed around the world. Salestrom was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1956.

Jim Salestrom is an Emmy Award winning songwriter. He has been recording songs and albums since he was 13. Artists Jim has worked with include John Denver and Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton's band recorded Jim's cd Nautilus. The songs that were written on the ship and about his first exploration, were then recorded at The Sound Kitchen in Nashville with Richard Dennison - Vickie Dempsey and Jennifer O'Brien singing and Kent Wells producing. I loved the fact that Captain Nemo Blues was written in part by Captain Nemo (Dr Robert Ballard) and that our friendship inspired the album about the good ship Nautilus.
