Spanish hip-hop pioneer El Club de los Poetas Violentos, also known as CPV, made its live debut in 1993, creating an instant rap revolution throughout Spain. A year later, DJ Jotamayuscula, along with MCs Frank-T, Kamikaze, Paco, Meswy, and Nafri, recorded their first album, called Madrid Zona Bruta, released by Yo Gano. In 1996, Frank-T decided to leave the act to start his solo career. That same year, CPV founded its own label, Zona Bruta, recording La Saga Continua in 1997, moving to New York in 1998 to make Grandes Planes.
Los Super Seven is a studio album released by supergroup Los Super Seven. It was released in September 15, 1998 by RCA Nashville. Freddy Fender and Flaco Jiménez, both from Texas Tornados, formed Los Super Seven, along Joe Ely, Rick Trevino, David Hidalgo and Cesar Rosas (of Los Lobos' fame), and Tejano vocalist Ruben Ramos. The album peaked at number-one in the Billboard Regional Mexican Albums chart and reached top ten in the Billboard Top Latin Song chart.
