Robert "Robbie" Fulks (born March 25, 1963) is an American alternative country singer-songwriter, instrumentalist and long-time Chicago, Illinois resident. He has released 13 albums over a career spanning more than 30 years. As fans had grown used to his rough and sparse sound, many were shocked by the release of Fulks' third album, 1998's Let's Kill Saturday Night, on Geffen Records. Fulks recorded it during the spring of 1998 in Nashville with producer Rick Will

Let's Kill Saturday Night. This song is by Robbie Fulks and appears on the album Revenge (2007). Well a dollar I makeIs a buck I oweAnd a 40-hour weekLeaves 10 to blowBut every game in this townIs just a nickel-and-dimeAnd when the sun goes downIt feels like the last time. So down the main drag we ride with the engines openIf there's a fire inside, it's the one thing going. Overview (current section).
The title song, which also opens the album, sets the tone with its worldly country/folk sensibility, but it isn't country, nor is it folk, and it has just enough rock to keep moving. A good comparison might be the Byrds' Sweetheart of the Rodeo or Gram Parsons updated to fit comfortably into the present.
Robbie Fulks, Rick Will, prods. John Keane, King Williams, Dave Latto, David Henry, asst. Falling midway between his 1951–52 debut sessions for Okeh/Epic and his 1958 commercial breakthrough, But Not for Me, this 1955 album was Jamal's first release on Argo, a subsidiary label of Chess. The drummerless trio includes the formidable bassist Israel Crosby and the underrated guitarist Ray Crawford, who does his bongo-simulation schtick on "New Rumba" and "I Get a Kick Out of Yo.
