Blues is a blues rock compilation album by Eric Clapton released in 1999. The release features songs from Clapton's 1970s RSO albums, as well as some unreleased material from the same era. The second disc features live recordings. Before You Accuse Me (Take a Look at Yourself)" (Ellas McDaniel) – 4:39 (Previously unreleased acoustic outtake from Backless, 1978). Mean Old World" (Walter Jacobs) – 3:50 (Outtake from Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, 1970). Ain't That Lovin' You" (Jimmy Reed) – 5:26.

Tenor Norström wrote "Maid in Sweden" for bassist Gunnar Johnson's quintet, on which he solos along with Johansson and baritone Severö, and trombonist Eje Thelin guides his quintet (with Lalle Svensson on valve trombone) through a swinging version of "Our Love Is Here to Stay. Founded in Sweden in 1994 by Jan Johansson's sons Anders and Jens, Heptagon Records has reissued much of the late Swedish pianist's 1950s and 1960s output on CD. Spelar Musik pa Sitt Eget Vis is a generous 77-minute CD that focuses largely on orchestral jazz that he recorded from 1964-1966. Many of these recordings are classically influenced and inspire comparisons to the third stream experiments of Gunther Schuller as well as the orchestral music that Gil Evans recorded with Miles Davis in the late 1950s, but such comparisons shouldn't obscure the fact that Johansson was quite.
