Shabba Ranks (born Rexton Rawlston Fernando Gordon; 17 January 1966) is a Jamaican dancehall musician. Ranks was born in Sturgetown, St. Ann, Jamaica, and raised in Trenchtown. He gained his fame mainly by toasting (or rapping) rather than singing, like some of his dancehall contemporaries in Jamaica. He was a protégé of deejay Josey Wales, and originally went by the name Co-Pilot.

Holding On," which features Home T. and Cocoa Tea, is another standout track, with a bouncy, upbeat feel and anthemic chorus. Of course, no Shabba Ranks collection could be complete without "Mr. Loverman," the song that in its remixed form helped launch Ranks to international stardom in the early '90s.
