Holy Hell is the eighth studio album by British metalcore band Architects. It was released on 9 November 2018. It is the follow-up to the band's previous album All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us, and is the first recorded without founding member and main songwriter Tom Searle, following his death in August 2016. Architects' guitarist Tom Searle passed away on 20 August 2016, after his three-year battle with skin cancer. His death had a traumatic effect on the other members of the band

Holy Hell is the eighth studio album by British metalcore band Architects. It is set to be the follow up to their 2016 album All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us, and will be the first album without founding member, guitarist and lyricist Tom Searle, who passed away in August, 2016, after a battle with cancer. Holy Hell was teased on the band’s social media through the release of a video on the 10th September, two days prior to the release of Hereafter and subsequent music video. The album cover is an abstract representation of Dante Alighieri’s concept of hell. The trees on the outside represent the forrest in between life and death. The middle part stands for the entrance to hell with its nine circles.

Holy Hell‘ begins with a style/sound I haven’t heard from Architects yet. The strings are back and more prominent, Sam Carter‘s soft screams are present too, but this assortment of music pulls us towards another action-packed, all-in offering which boasts exceptional fast and heavy riffs as both Adam Christianson and Josh Middleton bounce off each other in a cat-and-mouse styled play of. Closing out the album is ‘A Wasted Hymn‘ and the band nail this climax with passion, melody and a fantastic array of instrumentals with both the Architects lads and the string players giving their all for this heartstring-tugging finale which holds your hand all the way to the final closing lyrics of now its time to sink or swim/I’ve got. nothing except this wasted hymn/holy ghost/nothing lasts forever.

Holy Hell" has been teased for quite a while, with the first real sign being earlier in 2017 with "Doomsday". To be honest, on my first listen to this song, I wasn't particularly blown away or drawn to it. It appeared to me as much more of a typical song from this band and I didn't really consider it anything to really praise extensively. However, after listening to this album in full, I now appreciate this song a lot more in context with the rest of this material. British metalcore band Architects may take this to heart as their latest studio album "Holy Hell" gets put out through longtime label Epitaph Records. It's hard to believe that this band has been putting out albums since the mid 2000s and they are already on album number eight, but what is perhaps the most noteworthy fact about this album is that it is the first Architects have released after the death of guitarist Tom Searle.

Holy Hell’, the band’s eighth studio album, comes lumbered with expectation. The first release since the tragic, sudden and widely publicised death of guitarist and primary songwriter Tom Searle, before a second of the record is played out, it’s weighed down by expectation. It’s a triumph, then, that Dan Searle – Tom’s twin brother and the band’s drummer – vocalist Sam Carter, and bassist Ali Dean have returned in explosive fashion. Even aside from the tragedy that frames its arrival, though, it stands up as Architects’ very best album. The violent loss of an integral figure like Tom Searle would cripple almost any band – iconic, far larger groups have split over less. Somehow, though, through it all, Architects have emerged more powerful than ever – building on Tom’s legacy, rather than riding on its coattails. It’s a wonder to behold.

An album that's by turns gut-wrenching, hauntingly desolate and emotionally devastating. New Musical Express (NME). 100.

Holy Hell isn’t the best Architects album, but it doesn’t have to be. It deviates away from the previous two albums into something more fractured, missing the mark at times, but still able to deliver knockout blows when it counts. As Sam sings he’ll ‘always carry the cross’ on closer A Wasted Hymn, the emotional force of the previous 40 minutes strikes in the chest, flooding all senses, highlighting just how much of Tom is in this album and in Architects. It’s not perfect, but it’s a victory. Metal Hammer Newsletter.

Same for me. It's not a gold with orange marble. Just solid gold. And the vinyl it's not really "solid", I though is a little bit fragile ... But sound still good. Very great album.
Felhann
Same here. Looks like a Gold with Black marble. And Original It Sold as a Red Vinyl with gold effect :/
Shadowredeemer
I ordered from Impericon gold- Solid Red. On Pictures ist is a Red Vinyl with Gold Marble. My is Gold with 1-2 super light marble effects. Now i read everywhere orange with Gold. But so or so, Its a joke! That cant Really be right? :/
Prorahun
Got it in the mail today and unfortunately it looks like opaque gold, no solid orange anywhere to be seen. Is it just mine?
Fast Lovebird
Mine is the same. Also the barcode stuck on the shrink is 8714092766233. I'm assuming this is the release I purchased as "Solid Orange" ?

I like the transparent photo in the galery, someone was obviously looking for the 'purple' like I did. I'm pretty impressed by presing of this record tho. Even if it ain't 180g, sure does sound like one.
Thofyn
Yes! I expected it to be more purple, in photos it looks different than in person. In person the purple is appreciated. It's beautiful anyway

Cobyno
Are any of the other pressings 180g or is this the only one?
Phalaken
As of now, that's the only confirmed one. (It's been advertised as 180g, while the others hadn't.)
