The first single released from the album, "Mean Mistreater", was released on November 23 and the second, "Inside Looking Out", was released in January 1971. The album was originally released as a double album on the LP format. Subsequent reissues of the album on the compact disc format have been both double and single disc sets.

The best live albums transcend the studio recordings from which they originate; they give you the feeling that something really magical happened in concert that particular night. Most of the records in the above gallery of the Top 10 Live Albums document the artists during their peak years and at the top of their concert game. A couple even redefine the parameters of the live album. Next: Top 10 Greatest-Hits Albums.

The live album Weld captured the best moments on a two-CD set. The 14-minute rendition of "Like A Hurricane" remains one of the best version of the tune, while concert staples "Cortez The Killer," "Powderfinger" and "Hey Hey, My My (In The Black)" have never sounded so vital. Side B of the first Stooges live album is, purportedly, one of the gnarliest rock shows ever recorded. For weeks before the February 1974 gig, Stooges frontman Iggy Pop had gleefully engaged in public beef with a motorcycle gang called the Scorpions. They showed up in droves, along with all kinds of objects with which to pelt the band - fruits and vegetables, bottles, yard tools.

Can even fix some MP3s with corrupted file headers. Great player, especially with a few tweaks. I use Meier crossfeed together with Dolby surround emulation. What this does is it spreads the sound out, as if you're listening to a live performance, and greatly reduces ear strain when listening with headphones (which I do 99% of the time).
