Tracks is a four-disc box set by Bruce Springsteen, released in 1998 containing 66 songs. This box set mostly consists of d songs recorded during the sessions for his many albums, but also includes a number of single B-sides, as well as demos and alternate versions of already-released material. Bruce Springsteen went through a period of tremendous self-doubt before he recorded The Rising. The 1999/2000 reunion tour with the E Street Band was a huge success, they were just playing old material. Bruce Springsteen knew that it was virtually impossible to top Born in the USA with a bigger album, so he didn't even try. Instead, he took a couple years off and returned with an intensely personal album about a failing relationship. On the opening track, "Ain't Got You," he seemed to be singing about himself, with lines like "All the little girls want to tear me apart/ When I walk down the street people stop and stare/ Well you'd think I might be thrilled, but baby I don't care.
