The Black Dog. Neither/Neither. Although their Warp Records peers-Aphex Twin, Autechre, LFO-are regarded as the vanguard of "intelligent dance music," the Black Dog were as equally deft, playful, and rambunctious through the early half of the '90s. Since rescuscitating the name in 2005, they've issued a slew of releases, and as Neither/ Neither reveals, they've gotten far darker and more negative with time.

Neither/Neither will be the The Black Dog's first album since 2013's Tranklements. The forthcoming full-length will be the fourth on The Black Dog's own Dust Science Recordings, and their 12th official album overall. Neither/Neither is due out on vinyl, CD and digital formats. Those after the wax, though, should be quick-only 300 copies of Tranklements were pressed in 2013, so you can likely expect the new album to be similarly hard to come by a few months after release. Already listened to the album for six times now. More and more to discover. Really like the dark and sometimes confusing sound of it. A good mix of hard hitting beats and deep basses. Calm ambient and oppressive techno.
