The In Sound from Way Out! is an instrumental compilation by the Beastie Boys, released in 1996. The title and cover art concept were borrowed from the Perrey and Kingsley album of the same name. All tracks written by Beastie Boys and Nishita; except where indicated. Track 5 is from the "Sure Shot" single.

Sound and Shadows was recorded in 1977. I bought the album on vinyl in the late 1970s and it still sounds great. The interplay between the musicians is superb and the music has real depth. It took me a while to get into and I still hear new things decades later. Unfortunately, this was the group's last album together.
