After several self-indulgent albums in the late '70s (Lace and Whiskey, From the Inside), Alice Cooper decided to reinvent himself as a new waver for 1980's Flush the Fashion. The best-known song ended up being the cover "Clones (We're All)," which was in turn covered by the Smashing Pumpkins for their 1995 box set The Aeroplane Flies High.

DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Chance The Rapper & Quavo's "No Brainer" Explained. 2 Chainz Talks ‘Rap Or Go To The League,’ Working With LeBron & Ariana Grande. Au/Ra Breaks Down "Panic Room". King Princess Breaks Down "1950". Maggie Lindemann Breaks Down "Obsessed". Flush the Fashion Tracklist.

The original Alice Cooper band released its first album in 1969. They broke into the international music mainstream with the 1971 hit song "I'm Eighteen" from their third studio album Love It to Death. The band reached their commercial peak in 1973 with their sixth studio album Billion Dollar Babies Furnier adopted the band's name as his own name in the 1970s and began a solo career with the 1975 concept album Welcome to My Nightmare. Accompanying the album and stage show was the television special The Nightmare, starring Cooper and Vincent Price, which aired on US prime-time TV in April 1975. Flush the Fashion, Special Forces, Zipper Catches Skin and DaDa saw a gradual commercial decline, with the last two not denting the Billboard Top 200.
