We've all got our own opinions. It's not bile as one reviewer states below though. That's ridiculous. It encapsulates trance (commercial if you like...he was resident at Cream so what do you expect!) at the end of the 90's and I personally think it's an awesome mix. As do fellow dj's i've spoken to. Listening to it again in work today and takes me back. He did an essential mix live from the Que Club in May 96. Have a listen to that as it's another awesome mix from start to finish. Mixcloud it'll be on i'd imagine.

I'm not convinced that the Groovezone track Eisbaer is the Soull Hooligan Radio mix as that and the actual soul hooligan mix are a breaks/acid affair. I think its the extended version or the club mix.

Yeah, it's on one of his 1999 mixes from Home (but not the World Tour Essential Mix one). I have it on mp3 somewhere but don't have the full tracklist. It starts with BT - Flaming June, then Tilt - Butterfly, then Chakra - Home. Later on in the set there is a breakbeat remix of Olive - You're Not Alone straight after a remix of Ascension - Someone, and near the end another remix of BT - Flaming June. Off the top of my head ... lol

This mix is a chesse festival of chedder topped off with some goa relish for your delights and thats coming from someone who actually hung on his every record back in the day. I appreciate what Oakenfold stood for at the time and he is a legend in Liverpool granted but thses cds represent and signal the end of the word trance in all of its commercial glory. Oakenfold is for the untrained newbie ears, those with any taste in electronics would scoff at such bile.Ignore the review below.

Your review has the irritating and puke-inducing scent of the finest Roquefort France has ever produced. Only the view of nasty mold in bleu cheese could describe what your review looks like to those who are sight impaired. The sound of Velveeta meting into a hot pot of cheap, inexpensive fondue way up, atop the Appalachian mountain range is how one could describe your review in terms of how it could be heard when spoken aloud. When someone rubs their fingers over a block of feta cheese and feels it crumble off into their hand like a sack of maggots squirming around is the most sufficient way to describe how your review feels to the touch. The silky, yet slimy taste of Limburger is reminiscent of both your review and someone licking the sweat off the anus of a Rhino on a sultry, summer day in Africa. In summation, your review couldn't make you any more relatable to a cunty snob than if you were just some guy with dandruff falling out of his pony tail that also grates parmesan cheese at a greek restaurant in downtown Topeka, Kansas

Ignore the review above. I got into Trance at about this time and may be one of the bandwaggoners that the reviewer refers too, and yet I am still into 'the sound' 10 years on. This album is a masterpiece, a defining moment in real trance captured across two hours of melodic bliss. Unfortunately Mr Oakenfold moved onto more commercial ventures, but left a solid legacy with this amazing mix, The Goa Mix and His GU: New York Good luck in finding this album for cheap!!!.

Sure, it's got plenty of BIG trance tunes on it that Oakenfold played in the courtyard, but the production could be better, and I can mix better myself (that's saying something now!). Oakies two years in the courtyard killed the whole "CREAM" thing for me. The club was full of bandwagon jumpers, none of whom will still be into the sound now. His replacement Seb Fontaine continued to draw a very mainstream crowd and I let my membership expire without regret after that.

This is a good CD. If you want to introduce House/Trance music to someone who is new, I would recommend this 2CD set to them. It has all the big name Artists and is mixed by a big name DJ (Oakenfold). Besides that I only listen to it every once in a while (more for memories I suppose).

Ffrlel

This is a must for anyone who follows the Oakenfold Sound. Tracks such as Mysteryland and The Prophet are mixed to perfection with crowd noises (from Cream itself, i presume) overdubbed. Unlike a lot of compilations, this was put together by the dj rather than as a slave to "chart smash" tunes! If you can't get hold of it, Oakenfold's mix on Cream 97 is worth a look.
