Now, 40 years after the Rema-Rema disbanded comes Fond Reflections, an album that never was, culled from the band’s rich archive of reel-to-reel and cassette recordings, with member Gary Asquith and mixing engineer Takatsuna Mukai painstakingly working through the material to make this collection as cohesive as possible. The ten tracks pretty much reflect the band’s live set and is the closest to what their debut album could have sounded like. All of the tracks featured on Wheel In The Roses are present on this album, but are featured with different recordings.

Rema (EP) is a debut studio album by Nigerian recording artiste, Rema. Which was released through Mavin Records /Jonzing on March 22, 2019. Rema-Rema were formed in 1978 and have released recordings for 4AD Records in 1980 & Le Coq Musique in 2014. Post-punk band Rema-Rema weren’t together very long, about a year, but were pretty significant for a few reasons. Their sole release, 1980’s e Wheel in the Roses EP, was one of the first records released by 4AD and is still an influential cult classic. The new songs are pretty good, especially the organ-driven Lost My Way, synth-punk number International Scale, and the droning, heavy Entry that closes the LP is like 154-era Wire with great call-and-response vocals between Asquith and Allen. The CD comes with a bonus disc titled Extended Wheel in the Roses that uses the original EP, and adds Entry (taken from the same studio session as the EP’s a-side) and two more tracks recorded at the same Albany Empire, London show in 1979 as the EP’s b-side.
