Hi here are a few short tasters of the next astralasia release. we are not sure of its actual release date but hopefully this year. it features lou palmer who sang on 'away with the faires' and 'something somewhere' releases. some of the album features simon house,stella ferguson on violins,caroline lavelle on cello,michelle devonshire on flute bill forwell on bass.

Astralasia are a magnificent blend of Ambient –Dub and Tribal House and a few other influences thrown in for good measure. The band, which initially grew as an offshoot of the Magic Mushroom Band, has released a number of well-received albums.

Listening to Astralasia makes you feel psychically pampered. These instrumental musings on the cycles of life and death are sound paintings of a forgotten time, a land where love was the answer. Back in the day, Astralasia erred toward more generic psychedelic trance, with whomping beats, but on Oceania these rhythms are purveyed with a lighter touch, with what sounds like a sampled high tabla and other percussion, and waves of sound created by echoed guitar or sequenced keyboards.

Not to be confused with the multi-artist remix project from 2005, this album is attributed wholly to psytrance luminaries Astralasia, who pay homage to the deathless space-rock band Hawkwind with intriguing ambient-dub remixes. This compilation gathers several previously released tracks from the mid-1990s and early ‘00s, as well as one new remix of Uncle Sam's On Mars. The recordings capture an exciting intersection where old-fashioned psychedelia meets its future ghost.
