Following in the footsteps of Secret People and Delirium, this album offers mainly original compositions with the inclusion of the occasional Gaelic song and instrumental. Karen Matheson's voice is the featured instrument, and she is again accompanied adeptly by Charlie McKeron on fiddle, Manus Lunny on bouzouki and guitar, John Saich on bass, and Donald Shaw on keyboards. A new accent was added to the mix with the introduction of piper Fred Morrison, who plays the Highland small pipes on four cuts.
Capercaillie – To The Moon. Label: Survival Records – SURCD 019. Format: CD, Album. In the inlay, Fear-Allabain is spelt Fear - Allabain. This album was recorded and mixed in the summer of '95 (except for 'Allein Dunn' which was produced at the beginning of the year). C) 1995 Survival Records Ltd. (P) 1995 Survival Records Ltd.
Album by Capercaillie. Why Won't You Touch Me. You. La Paella Grande. The Crooked Mountain.
The biggest problem of the album is that it leaves behind strong pop for two sounds that intermixed here. One is a world-music kitchen sink that doesn't represent any particular genre in a memorable way. For example, "Why Won't You Touch Me" has Ladysmith Black Mambazo vocal harmonies an American country flavour and somewhere beneath Scottish fiddle.
Delirium is the fourth studio album by folk rock band Capercaillie released in 1991 by Survival Records. It was issued in North America by Valley Entertainment in 2002. Rann Na Móna" (Manus Lunny) – 3:50. Waiting For The Wheel To Turn" (Donald Shaw) – 4:36. Aodann Srath Bhàin (The Slopes of Strath Ban)" (Trad. Arr. Capercaillie) – 4:05. Cape Breton Song" (Trad. Capercaillie) – 3:02. You Will Rise Again" (John Saich) – 3:31. Kenny MacDonald's Jigs" (N. MacDonald) – 3:58.
Capercaillie's first two albums, Cascade and Crosswinds featured very few modern instruments and the tunes and songs were played in a more traditional arrangement.
