Frankie Lee (April 29, 1941 – April 24, 2015) was an American soul blues and electric blues singer and songwriter who released six albums. His style has been compared to that of Otis Redding. The New York Daily News wrote that Lee had "one of the most energetic blues voices of any time or place". Frankie Lee Jones was born in Mart, Texas. As a child, he sang gospel music in church. In 1963, he signed a recording contact with Peacock Records.

Vocalist Frankie Lee has always been an engaging and energetic live performer, though his recorded output is still very small given the number of years he's been around, and how legendary his live shows have become. If Denise LaSalle is a modern-day Bessie Smith, then Lee is a '90s Otis Redding. Lee was signed to record for the Flying Fish label in 1992, and Sooner or Later, with Doug Newby and the Virginia-based Bluzblasters, was the result. Lee's 1994 release, Going Back Home, was released on the San Francisco-based Blind Pig label. He continued performing, cutting the occasional new album, such as African Wind, a 2004 collaboration with Dan Treanor, and 2009's Standing at the Crossroads, until his death on April 24, 2015. Some of Lee's highlights include The Ladies and the Babies and Going Back Home.
