Overall, Demonical's 2013 album "Darkness Unbound" is simply an incredible album. in my opinion, they came into their own with this CD, and I think this will become a future classic for the death metal scene. The recognizable characteristics of Stockholm death metal are still ever-present even in the more melodic parts and the band never travels west to Gothenburg, but it still marks a change in Demonical’s sound.

The album comes thundering in and never lets up, replete with battering drums, burning riffs, eerie melodies and vocal gravel that we all should be pleasantly familiar with. Plain and simple, this is death metal in a nutshell. It might as well have a small yellow sticker on it that says This Is Death Metal because that’s definitely what I’m hearing here.
