Wilful Missing – Vast Atlantic. by Alex Gallacher 5 November, 2010. I recently stumbled across Wilful Missing, a young up and coming band from Bradford. Just feast your ears on the opening track from their latest EP Vast Atlantic and you’ll know why I’m writing about them. Vast Atlantic was recorded at Sam Kipling’s (Singer +) house which is apparently turning into their collective home and the striking EP artwork was designed by fellow band member Ruth. Keep an eye out for them as they recently supported Duke and the King. Wilful Missing are: SAM KIPLING – Vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin, keys SAM LAWRENCE – Guitars, mandolin, bouzouki, keys, vocals, accordion, bagpipes ALBERT FREEMAN – Bass, vocals, guitar, megaphone, keys, flute, whistling RUTH VIQUEIRA – Drums, cajon, percussion RHYS KELLY – Keyboards, clarinet, percussion. original 'Wilful Missing' CD artwork. Blue Poetry’ was originally released on our self-titled 8-track CD, released in 2007. All the songs from Wilful Missing have since been re-worked, but we are still proud of this now scarce set of recordings. DIY’ was re-recorded for our Vast Atlantic EP, four of the others were remixed for the Loose Ends EP, while the remainder have been more recently re-recorded ahead of the release of our ‘Molehills out of Mountains’ album, due for release in December 2011.

In 2010 Bradford’s Wilful Missing released the EP Vast Atlantic on Little Attic Records. DIY, from that EP, was featured in series 7 or Waterloo Road. Wilful Missing featuring 3-part vocals, mandolin, guitars, Hammond & Rhode keyboards, clarinet, accordion, bagpipes, cello, cajon, drums, bass and penny whistle.
