Simon Wickham-Smith was born in 1968 and studied English Literature at London University. It was there that he met Richard Youngs, with whom he has produced music in a variety of noisy and droney styles and a large number of discs on labels from all over the world. In recent years, he has begun to produce solo albums and to write more traditional, acoustic music. His solo and collaborative work have been released on labels in New Zealand, Australia, Russia and the United States and he has performed in Finland, Lithuania, Australia and the United States.

What Makes Me Dive In Headfirst Besides one compilation this was the first full release by someone other than myself (Antony Milton) on PseudoArcana. I had been a fan of Simon's for some time and wrote to him, somewhat nervously, and was actually surprised when he said yes to the offer of a release. And what a release! Simon Wickham-Smith (born Rustington, East Sussex, 2 February 1968) is a British musician, translator, academic and sometime astrologer. He first came to the attention of the experimental music underground with the release of Lake, a collaboration with Richard Youngs issued under the moniker R!!!S!!!. The album was titled 5 Years. In 2006, with Pekka Kumpulainen, Wickham-Smith began the Inari Festival of Experimental Music (iFEM) in northern Finland. This small scale musical festival is thought to be the world's most northerly music festival. The Sermon! is a 1959 album by jazz organist Jimmy Smith. It was produced by the Blue Note record label, and was Smith's fifteenth album in three years. The Sermon was the second of two albums recorded on two dates at The Manhattan Towers Hotel Ballroom, the first was Smith's previous album, House Party (1958)

Simon Smith has been the drummer with several British Indie rock bands, most notably The Wedding Present from Leeds, which he joined in 1988, and also worked with its offshoot The Ukrainians. Simon Smith started out briefly as a member of The Chorus with Peter Solowka, who also became a member of The Wedding Present. The Chorus released tracks on the AAZ record label from 1983 to 1985 including the 7" double A side single "These Stones", "Diamond Mine".
