The Family Album is a new-age album by Rick Wakeman for which he recorded a song for every member of his family including his parents, pets and even his computer. Years later, after divorcing his wife Nina and the passing of his parents, Wakeman has stated he no longer listens to this album as it brings him sadness. Black Beauty" (black rabbit). A very personal album for Rick Wakeman, but unfortunately, it disappoints on a huge level. As the title implies, this album is dedicated to Rick Wakeman's family. Each track is dedicated to a member of his family, including pets. As a result, there are many short tracks in this album. The album is all instrumental, and tries to portray a painting of sound for each person. It may succeed, but that does not save the album. The Family Album is a tedious, and uninteresting collection of shory little pieces. Highlights : Nina, Kookie, Dad Let Downs : Adam, Jenna, Wiggles.

On this highly personal album, part of "The Rick Wakeman New Age Collection," Wakeman turns the interpretive skills he once applied to Henry VIII's six wives to a subject much closer to home: his own family. His parents, his wife Nina, his children, and his pets all get their musical portraits painted as keyboard instrumentals. Several of the pieces are calm and peaceful like much new age music, while some subjects, such as Wiggles the rabbit, inspire more upbeat and/or complex pieces
