Elementalz ‎(Cass, Album). Bite It! Recordings, Virgin. After a few years of Shylock finding his style and Underdog never missing a beat with the beats on almost every Brotherhood release or 12", they have persued a newer form here as every song is somewhat slowed to a more ambient and murkier sound similar to Temples of boom era Cypress Hill on this album,With the addition of London based Ragga

The Brotherhood were a pioneering UK hip-hop group with a solid following across the UK from the early 1990s. Releases with seminal UK Hip Hop label Bite It! Recordings were followed by a later move to Virgin. The 1996 album Elementalz has been described as one of the best UK hip hop albums ever made and "a staggering achievement in British music" The Brotherhood. The band started in 1984 as a loose collective of around eight members called the Brotherhood VIP. VIP stood for "Vagabonds in Power", taken from a Fela Kuti record of the same name. They were a collective of rappers, dancers, graffiti artists, and DJ's who were black, white, Muslim and Jewish.

1/ The Brotherhood were UK Hip Hop's big hitters in the mid-90's. Originally released as founding artists on the Bite It! label they were later signed to Virgin. They released a number of 12" singles, EP's and mini albums, with the main album 'Elementalz' being released by Virgin to critical acclaim, but low levels of sales.
