Miles Ahead is an album by Miles Davis that was released in October 1957 by Columbia Records. It was Davis' first collaboration with arranger Gil Evans following the Birth of the Cool sessions. Along with their subsequent collaborations Porgy and Bess (1959) and Sketches of Spain (1960), Miles Ahead is one of the most famous recordings of Third Stream, a fusion of jazz, European classical, and world musics. Davis played flugelhorn throughout.
500 Miles" (also known as "500 Miles Away from Home" or "Railroaders' Lament") is a song made popular in the United States and Europe during the 1960s folk revival. The simple repetitive lyrics offer a lament by a traveller who is far from home, out of money and too ashamed to return.

Miles Jaye is among other things, a classically trained violinist, a protege' of R&B legend Teddy Pendergrass and former Cop in the iconic Pop group the Village People. Jaye first introduced his violin on "I've Been A Fool for You" - a classic R&B hit; then again on The DIVINE ASCENSION and ROMANTIC STORM CD's. Remarkably, his violin possesses the same passion and soul filled expression as his inimitable voice.
Miles Jaye Davis (born November 12, 1957), known professionally as Miles Jaye, is an American R&B and jazz singer, jazz violinist, songwriter, and record producer. He had several hits on the US R&B chart in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the biggest of which was "Let's Start Love Over" in 1987. He was for a time the lead singer of Village People. He released his debut album, Miles, on Island Records, and the song "Let's Start Love Over," written by Micheal Claxton, was released as a single and rose to 5 on the Billboard R&B chart in late 1987. Its follow-up, "I've Been a Fool For You," a Jaye original, was also a top ten R&B hit and has become a soul classic. Jaye also contributed, as musician, songwriter and co-producer, to Pendergrass' hit 1988 album, Joy.
