Kim Hiorthøy goes for some jump-up goodness as he kicks off MY LAST DAY, as the energetic "I Thought We Could Eat Friends" hops into action before letting the relaxed organ and old-skool samples of "Beats Mistake" take over. The de-tuned piano returns on "I'm This I'm That," but only to wave goodbye to an intriguing album.
My Last Day is Hiorthøy's first proper full-length since his 2001 debut Hei, and its prevalent quirkiness is immediately apparent in the nutty songtitles ("I Thought We Could Eat Friends") and head-scratching cover art (which is not by Hiorthøy, though he is a noted graphic artist and designer
