Bridge of Sighs is the second solo album by the English guitarist and songwriter Robin Trower. Released in 1974, it was his second album after leaving Procol Harum, and was a commercial breakthrough for Trower. Songs such as "Bridge of Sighs", "Too Rolling Stoned", "Day of the Eagle" and "Little Bit of Sympathy" became live concert staples. The album was produced by organist Matthew Fisher, formerly Trower's bandmate in Procol Harum.
After leaving his old group, Trower experimented with different musicians and ideas for several years, which paid off when he finally released Twice Removed From Yesterday, a record that displayed the characteristics that would make him a guitar hero and stadium attraction of the mid-'70s.
Twice Removed From Yesterday: This is where it all began. I have been a fan of the work of Robin Trower since his days as a guitarist for the legendary Procol Harum. From the very beginning, you could hear in his play that he had something special and that within the confines of his role as the band's guitarist was a musical pioneer yearning to blaze his own trail. Album after album, Trower became more assertive in his influence on Procol Harum's sound until one fine day he took that leap that was to launch him into musical immortality
Group Members Robin Trower – Guitar James Dewar – Bass, vocals Reg Isidore – Drums. SIXTH album of Trower I hear this week, so yes, he was a Hendrix alumni centered on continuing his sound, style and concept (a trio) and that's not imitation
