Mustafa Kandıralı is a Turkish clarinettist of Gypsy origin. Since childhood he has been a professional musician, and commands a huge repertoire encompassing many genres - not only Gypsy traditions but also classical, pop, folk dance, and traditional song. To all these he brings an instantly recognisable manner of playing that entails fearless improvisation, subversive high spirits and some characteristic technical tricks - in particular a kind of slide - that he applies to all genres.

Mustafa Kandirali is a true master of the G clarinet and Turkish traditional and gypsy music. Sayın Kandıralı'dan bağımsızdır ve içeriği kendisini bağlamaz.

Kandirali's Gypsy background lends him an immediate global outlook, and his undeniable skill on the instrument gives him the tool he needs to execute it. But he is not limited to any one genre. He has clearly absorbed a lifetime of jazz, Turkish and western popular music as well as the myriad styles of traditional folk music of Turkey, and he has developed an improvisational bent that is on par with any of the great American jazz men, with flourishes and attacks that would rival Miles Davis' or John Coltrane's adventures in sonic experimentation.
