Pandemonium is the ninth studio album by English rock band Killing Joke, released on 2 August 1994 by record label Butterfly. This album marked Killing Joke's return after a four-year-long hiatus, the longest the band had taken since it was initially founded. This album also featured the return of founding member Youth, who replaced Paul Raven on bass. The vocal tracks for "Pandemonium", "Exorcism" and "Millennium" were recorded in the King's Chamber of The Great Pyramid of Giza.
Killing Joke's best album in 11 years is a major surprise. While the other two LPs since their comeback (after a brief breakup in 1988) refocused the group on heavy guitars and contained several great songs, this time they put it all together. For good measure, they throw out the minor, pesky metal-isms that lurked throughout 1994's Pandemonium.
Democracy (album version) Lyrics. You have a choice, we are your voice Red, blue or yellow We will ridicule the green Another five lane motorway (You'll never even get a referendum anyway) Funny handshakes, insider dealings Et in Arcadia, Arcadia ego Backhanders and salamanders A powerhouse that is morally Mechula. I'm sorry democracy is changing
Killing Joke are an English rock band formed in October 1978 in Notting Hill, London, England. The original line-up included Jaz Coleman (vocals, keyboards), Paul Ferguson (drums), Geordie Walker (guitar) and Youth (bass). Their first album, Killing Joke, was released in 1980. After the release of Revelations in 1982, bassist Youth was replaced by Paul Raven. The band achieved mainstream success in 1985 with both the album Night Time and the single "Love Like Blood".

You can’t deny the impact of Killing Joke. Their highly influential debut album has aided a myriad of genres, and they have released consistently high-quality albums throughout their lengthy career. However, two albums from the 90’s, Pandemonium and Democracy, tend to be overlooked in discussions of their music. While the early and later years of Killing Joke are undeniably brilliant, the in between years are nothing to make light of. One reason that Democracy in particular might be brushed aside is that isn’t incredibly different from its predecessor, Pandemonium.
