Brave New World is the twelfth studio album by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on 29 May 2000. It was their first studio release since the return of longtime lead singer Bruce Dickinson (who left in 1993) and guitarist Adrian Smith (who left in 1990) in 1999, as well as the band's first studio recording as a six-piece, as Janick Gers, who replaced Smith in 1990, remained with the band.

Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band formed by bassist Steve Harris in 1975. The band's first album, 1980's Iron Maiden, was written primarily by Harris, with vocalist Paul Di'Anno co-writing two tracks and guitarist Dave Murray contributing "Charlotte the Harlot".

The discography of Iron Maiden, an English heavy metal band founded in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, includes sixteen studio albums, as well as numerous live albums, compilations, EPs, singles, video albums, music videos, and box sets.

Iron Maiden closed their Maiden England world tour in July 2014 headlining at Sonisphere Festival, Knebworth, delighting the crowds by having The Great War Display Team featuring Bruce Dickinson among its pilots, stage a sensational aerial dogfight in the skies above the Festival with Bruce flying his very own WW1 German Fokker Dr1, just hours before taking to the stage. The ensuing Maiden show marked the final chapter in the band’s trilogy of tours performing their 80’s repertoire. With over 90 million album sales, more than 2000 live performances in 63 countries, tens of millions of fans and 16 studio albums of unerring quality and power to their name, Iron Maiden have more than earned their proudly-held status as one of the most influential and revered rock bands of all time.

The original Iron Maiden line-up cut their teeth performing in British pubs and settled as a quartet with guitarist Dave Murray (another long-hauler), drummer Doug Sampson and vocalist Paul Di’Anno, the Chigwell-born metal-punk rocker whose earthy skinhead rasp enriched the first Iron Maiden releases. Rocking out of Leyton in the mid-70s, Iron Maiden always boasted impressive chops, thanks to the Harris and Murray axis. You’ll first hear them on the 1980 compilation Metal For Muthas and the hard-to-find EP The Soundhouse Tapes, but their debut proper is the self-titled album Iron Maiden, produced, intriguingly, by Wil Malone. Virtual XI subsequently divided opinion, but Bruce’s return, on 2000’s Brave New World, delighted the hard rock fraternity, who lapped up the album and hit single ‘The Wicker Man’, hailing both as solid returns to form.
