The Shirelles were an American girl group notable for their rhythm and blues, doo-wop and soul music and gaining popularity in the early 1960s. They consisted of schoolmates Shirley Owens (later Shirley Alston Reeves), Doris Coley (later Doris Kenner-Jackson), Addie "Micki" Harris (later Addie Harris McFadden), and Beverly Lee. Founded in 1957 for a talent show at their high school, they were signed by Florence Greenberg of Tiara Records

Red, white, silver, and black label. All text is black except "Scepter Records" and bottom rim text in white, see photographs.

Scepter used the same cover slicks, front and back, for Mono and Stereo pressings, showing a catalog number of Scepter 507 ONLY. The front slick was shifted up or down before being affixed to the cardboard to either hide or display the word 'stereo' [lower case] at the top. No indication on back cover as to Mono or Stereo. Stereo is indicated by label matrix numbers and dead wax matrix numbers.
