Thelonious Monk Nonet Live In Paris 1967 is a live jazz album by Thelonious Monk on France's Concert Records LP FC-113, released in 1988. Recorded at "Salle Pleyel", Paris, France, November 3, 1967, Thelonious Monk Nonet Live in Paris is a concert recording of a rare large group that Monk assembled for the European tour, which featured the addition of some of the top horn players in jazz.
This one centers on the estate of Thelonious Monk. The label Thelonious Records was formed by Monk's son . Monk and Peter Grain to open its vaults for the first time and issue unreleased live recordings that were both officially sanctioned and bootlegged. If this set, the second of a two- night engagement at Paris' famed Olympia Theater in 1965, is any indication of the quality and inspiration of these performances, Monk fans definitely have something to look forward to besides reissues.

Thelonious Monk Paris 1969 is a fascinating and important late-career document of the legendary Jazz pianist and composer in performance with his Quartet at the Salle Pleyel concert hall in Paris, France on December 15, 1969. The concert also featured a surprise guest appearance from renowned drummer Philly Joe Jones. 969 finds Thelonious Monk, after a long and illustrious career, without a recording contract. Additionally, he’s battling some health issues which are starting to make an impact on his performances. Within a few years, specifically by 1971, Monk will have abandoned his musical vocation never to record or perform in public again. Charlie Rouse, his long time musical colleague and key collaborator within the quartet (eleven years) will depart from the band within months of the 1969 Paris concert.
