About Feel What You Want. The song is about how perception is affected by our emotional state. This cover for an original dance track written and performed by Kristine Elizabeth Weitz (aka Kristine W) appeared on the 1994 album Land of the Living and topped the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart of that year. Kristine mentioned the motivation for writing this song in an interview: My stepfather had died and I really was depressed over his sudden death.

Free is The Party's second studio album. Teddy Riley wrote three songs for the album, including the new jack swing-tinged title song, "Free," which was also remixed by house-music legends Steve "Silk" Hurley and E-Smoove.
