La Valse à Mille Temps (English: The Waltz With A Thousand Beats) is Jacques Brel's fourth album. Also known as Jacques Brel 4 and American Début, the album was released in 1959 by Philips. The album was reissued on 23 September 2003 under the title La Valse à Mille Temps as part of the 16-CD box set Boîte à Bonbons by Barclay (980 816-6). Jacques Brel – composer, vocals. In 1968 an American experimental musical Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris made its debut. Consisting of 25 songs, the revue was performed by four vocalists, two males and two females. Jacques Brel contributed most of the music and French lyrics. In 1989, Marc Almond, who had performed Brel songs on his early albums with Marc and the Mambas, released his successful Jacques, an album composed solely of Jacques Brel songs. In 1991 he released "Jacky", which became a successful hit single
Jacques Brel had still to visit the . when his first American album (so aptly titled!) was released - ironically, by the time he did make his debut, this particular set was long since deleted.
