The film features Björk performing tracks from her Biophilia Tour, which started in June 2011 and ended in September 2013. It was filmed at Alexandra Palace in London on 3 September 2013, and had a theatrical premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on 26 April 2014 with screenings across the world throughout the same year.

Björk is the only studio album by Icelandic singer Björk Guðmundsdóttir as a child singer, released on 18 December 1977 by Fálkinn. In 1976, Björk appeared on Icelandic radio singing "I Love to Love" through the music school she attended, which led her to a record deal and the release, with the help of stepfather Sævar, of her first solo album in 1977.

Biophilia is the eighth studio album by Icelandic recording artist Björk. It was released on 5 October 2011, by One Little Indian Records and distributed by Nonesuch Records in North America and by Universal Music Group in the rest of the world. Björk promoted the album with the Biophilia Tour, which began at the Manchester International Festival in June 2011 and ended in September 2013. I was off all my record deals, so I felt I was off the grid, so in that sense it was kind of crossroads project for me.

Album · 2011 · 13 Songs. An extended ode to the natural world, Biophilia buzzes with bright, pure tones: Moon sets Björk’s slowly swelling harmonies against tranquil harp, and Crystalline applies the same stripped-down aesthetic to chimes and crisp, staccato drums. Dark Matter quivers with rich, resonant pipe organ, while Mutual Core explodes a church-like hush into bold, distorted percussion, and Nattura features shuddering, heavy-metal drumming by Lightning Bolt’s Brian Chippendale. Great, cosmic forces hold sway: Rarely has Björk gotten so close to the essence of things in her music.

Label: One Little Indian ‎– tplp1016. Format: 2 Vinyl, 12", Album. Comes with a "dropcard" coupon for free download of the digital album. The LP was imported to the US and released there on Nonesuch on October 24, 2011.

Biophilia marks Björk's eighth full-length release, and represents her definitive attempt to create an ecosystem around her work. 90-minute film documenting its creation. Beyond that, the album itself purports to engage with some pretty momentous themes, with song titles like "Thunderbolt", "Dark Matter", and "Cosmogony" and imagery focusing on time, space, and the natural world. The stakes feel even higher in light of Björk's mottled output over the past decade.

Biophilia is the musical project and eighth full-length studio album from Icelandic singer Björk. The album was released on October 10, 2011, over four years after her last original studio effort Volta (2007). The album is "partly recorded" on an iPad and will be released in the form of a series of apps. Biophilia will be the world's "first app album" in collaboration with Apple.

In 2011, Icelandic artist Björk released her eighth full-length studio album Biophilia, yet the Biophilia project has continued beyond an album into performances, interactive applications, educational programs, and now a concert film. Working with co-directors Peter Strickland and Nick Fenton, Björk created this concert film for the Biophilia world tour’s final performance, at Alexandra Palace in London. In addition to the always fascinating Björk herself, the performance features an angelic Icelandic choir, Austrian percussionist Manu Delago, and numerous unusual instruments.

Sudert
Great pressing, but is not 180gm. Its actually around 150gm.
Malanim
Very muddy vinyl, I believe the mastering or the cutting process of the album has gone utterly wrong for this LP. It lacks this sharpness of the instruments found on the album and it is low on treble and vocal instrumentation. This is one of her best albums to date and yet this version of the LP is bad. (I read that all of them are bad, which is a huge bummer)
Sharpmane
So, how does it sound?
